Utilizing a series of pre-designed puppet patterns, the children will learn the basics of puppet jointing and construction ultimately creating their own animal shadow puppet.

Following this, the children will then learn the elements of puppet performance as they are lead through a series of exercises moving the puppets across a shadow screen.  Students will even learn how to build a simple shadow screen of their own using common items found around the home.

MATERIALS and OTHER SUNDRY THINGS

The shadow puppets used in the class are made from an initial pattern provided by the Lionheart Puppet Company.   All other supplies, including a shadow screen and clip light will also be provided by the Lionheart Puppet Co. 

The class is expected to last approximatly 1 hour and is best if limited to about 15 children.

Cost of the workshop is $150. Workshops can also be added to any Lionheart Puppet Show for $100.  A materials fee may be added if multiple workshops are booked.
